A man identified as Demola survived a brutal attack on Saturday after he allegedly led thugs to disrupt elections in Okota area of Lagos. Demola was believed to have led thugs, who invaded polling units in the area, burning ballot papers for presidential and national assembly elections. Demola afterwards met his doom on the same day after he was attacked by an opponent group of thugs. However, a video shared on Twitter on Sunday showed Demola lying on a hospital bed receiving treatment in an unidentified hospital. Under the Nigeria Electoral Act, it is illegal to disrupt voting by any means.
